NSIC Thursday Night Football A Win For All

Some exciting news for NSIC fans came out today! This fall, Midco Sports Network will broadcast 20 live conference football games, including a weekly Thursday Night Game Of The Week! All 16 NSIC schools will be featured over the course of the season on Thursday night and I personally couldn't be more excited to call these games!

Over the past three years, as host of the weekly "Northern Sun Experience," I've learned so much about all 16 schools, their teams, their players and everyone else who makes those institutions run. From the top down, those who work to promote these schools have done a magnificent job of expanding the conference's footprint. I've said to many fans, friends and colleagues that the NSIC is the best Division II conference in the entire country. This new agreement between the NSIC and Midco Sports Network solidifies that even further!

"Midco has been a tremendous supporter of the NSIC over the years, and we are thrilled to be able to continue to grow our partnership, exposing the region to the first-class institutions and incredible student-athletes that compete in the NSIC," said NSIC commissioner Erin Lind.

I believe having an exclusive window on Midco Sports Network, being the showcase game of that week, will allow fans across the area to see what NSIC football is all about. Live games are the cream of the crop when it comes to a sports network and adding more to our repertoire is a win-win for everyone!

Football isn't the only sport that will get more live coverage next season. Midco Sports Network is adding to its NSIC Basketball Tournament coverage starting in 2018 as well! In addition to the semifinals and championship games (which Midco SN has broadcast from the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls since 2014), we will be adding Saturday and Sunday quarterfinal action from the Pentagon to our schedule. That's eight more games, leading to a grand total of 14 games broadcast live over four days! The Pentagon is the perfect facility for the NSIC Basketball Tournament and has been host to some classic games over the past four years, so I can't wait for us to showcase even more!

"We are pleased to expand our partnership with the NSIC," said Mark Powell, VP of Midco SN. "The newly created "NSIC Thursday Night Game of the Week" along with the additional conference tournament basketball games give fans all across the region a compelling reason to tune in. The NSIC is a great conference that aligns with our goal of providing viewers with exciting live game action."

This is an exciting time for all of us! I've been with the network for a little more than four years, but colleagues of mine who have been with Midco SN since its infancy are amazed at how much we've grown. It's a testament to the dedication of our staff who truly enjoy coming to work every single day and doing something they love! We appreciate all of our fans and customers and hope this news gets you even more excited to watch Midco Sports Network!
